The Wounded Warrior Family Care Report

We published The Wounded Warrior Family Care Report in April 2009 and shared it with the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the House and Senate Committees on Veterans Affairs and other non-profit organizations with the hope that each would consider the recommendations as they evaluate the programs for which they are responsible

The report provides a synopsis of our research regarding family support needs of severely wounded, injured, or ill service members and the existing government and non-profit resources to meet those needs. The report also provides several recommendations to improve and supplement existing supports to ensure families have timely and full access to the resources required to rebuild quality lives after a devastating injury.

The Wounded Warrior Family Care Program Plan of Action

After we published The Wounded Warrior Family Care Report, we then focused our efforts on addressing the gap between resources and needs for families who have made the transition from inpatient care to home-based care for their severely wounded, injured, or ill service member.

The Wounded Warrior Family Care Program provides community-based coordination to meet quality of life needs that are not already addressed by federally funded programs.
